Even though We were inexperienced we could give them a good life, love and enjoy watching them grow and getting to know their individual personalities.
We were told they were 4 girls, so in the age of 20 weeks one of them started crowing, we thought she's got sick making noise and sent a video of all to the lady we got them from and the answer was 2 of them are indeed boys!
Living in a town with unhappy neighbours due to the noise, we were heartbroken and had to return the chickens to the lady, tears streaming down our faces.
But very soon after that, we added 5 (all different breeds) and read and learn to gain knowledge each day with different problems we were going to face.
Soon they grew up and one of them went broody,
With our lack of knowledge, we had no clue why the poor lady is non-stop in the nesting box? We contacted a vet and finally understood she wants to be a mom, so we didn’t want to let her down and it was our mission to get some fertile eggs for her and counted every second to see little ones hatch, 2 out of 6 hatched and we were over the moon.
We felt we are the happiest family in the world having them.
Within the years we hatched a lot, watched them grow, named them, gave them love, faced the dangers like, fox, rats, chicken disease … lost them, cried, lots of praying involved, some of them made it, some not.
Many times, we felt like giving up, but we couldn’t bear the thought of letting all we had learned, loved, and lost go to waste. Instead, we resolved to give our featured friends the best life possible.
